ADDENDUM NO. 2 - Answers to questions posed by interested bidders
ITB PROJ. NAME: Haney Building Roof Improvements Project at Apalachicola Airport
DATE: September 24, 2026
TO: All mandatory pre-bid meeting attendees
CONTACT: Erin Griffith, Fiscal Manager/Grants Coordinator, 850-653-5143,
erin@franklincountyflorida.com
All mandatory pre-bid meeting attendees please see the answers below to questions posed by interested
bidders.
1) Q: In all likelihood, the existing insulation in the hangar portion of the building will be damaged or
destroyed when the current roof panels are removed. Should new blanket insulation be included in our
base bid or as an add/option? Also please specify the current insulation thickness and/or R-value.
A: Franklin County is not aware of the current condition, thickness or R-value of the insulation in the
hangar portion of the building. If new blanket insulation is needed, this will be addressed by a change
order to the construction contract. Insulation should not be included in the base bid.
2) Q: The project description calls for a 24'guage, 1" standing seam roof panel. This style standing seam roof
panel is not designed as a structural panel and should not be installed on open purlin roof framing. Pre-
Engineered Metal Buildings typically require a structural panel with a minimum rib height of 1-3/4".
Please confirm that a structural standing seam panel will be required for this roof system.
A: Please see Addendum #1 which was issued on September 21st - the project scope/description and Bid
Transmittal Form was corrected as follows: Contractor will furnish all permits, labor, materials, equipment,
apparatus, tools, transportation to replace the roof on a 10,500 square foot airport hangar/classroom
building with 24-gauge mill finished galvalume 2" mechanical standing seam roofing panel system, trim
and necessary pipe poots. Contractor will also be responsible for the removal and disposal of the existing
roof materials. Costs associated with Bonds and Insurance shall be included in the total price as shown on
the bid transmittal form.
3) Q: Please confirm that the existing trim, gutters and downspouts are to be replaced. Should those items
be included in the base bid or offered as an add/option?

A: The base bid will include 'trim' (see the project description) - the condition and compatibility of the
existing downspouts and gutters is unknown, replacement of downspouts and gutters if needed will be
addressed by a change order to the construction contract. Gutters and downspouts should not be
included in the base bid.
4) Q: On SECTION 3) Form 1) Bid transmittal Form paragraph 5 it says, "Costs associated with Bonds and
Insurance shall be included in the total price above". Please confirm whether a bid bond is required for
project and if so, what the bond amount requirement is.
A: This project does not require a bid bond; there is no bond amount required.
5) Q: There is no stated requirement for a contractor workmanship warranty or manufacturer product
warranty. Please confirm there is no warranty requirement for this project.
