The Department of Education and Early Development, Division of Innovation and Education Excellence, is seeking a vendor who will provide asynchronous Executive Function (EF) training for educators, equipping them with strategies to enhance both teacher and student agency in applying EF skills to support literacy. The training will focus on integrating EF principles into academic planning and classroom routines, fostering student independence and self-regulation. Additionally, a monthly virtual collaborative community will be established, allowing Alaskan educators to share best practices and refine their application of EF strategies in the classroom.
The ultimate goal of this project is to empower educators with the knowledge, skills, and support necessary to effectively integrate Executive Function (EF) Blueprint strategies into literacy instruction, leading to improved student engagement, independence, and academic success. By the end of the initiative, teachers will have gained a strong understanding of EF skills and the Blueprint lesson planning and their role in learning, allowing them to apply structured approaches to academic planning, classroom routines, and instructional practices. As a direct outcome, students will develop stronger self-regulation, task management, and organizational skills, which are critical for literacy development and overall academic achievement. Teachers will report increased confidence in applying EF strategies, and classrooms will reflect a more structured and supportive learning environment that fosters both student autonomy and success.
In addition, the project will establish a sustainable, collaborative professional learning community where Alaskan educators can continuously share insights, reflect on implementation, and refine their practices. This monthly virtual forum will ensure that the impact of the training extends beyond the initial learning phase, providing educators with an ongoing support network to reinforce and expand their use of EF strategies. Overall, this initiative will result in lasting improvements in instructional practice, student learning outcomes, and educator collaboration, creating a strong foundation for continued success in integrating Executive Function skills into literacy instruction
