1. Purpose of the RFI
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) North Atlantic Division, New York District is conducting market research to identify potential small business sources with the capability to perform the work described in this RFI. This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract.

2. Background
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers New York District is presently in the Pre-Construction Engineering and Design (PED) phase of its Fire Island Inlet to Montauk Point (FIMP) project, which consists of several structural and nonstructural contracts. The purpose of this FIMP Downtown Montauk (DTM) Sand Path project is to restore beach access at four (4) locations at Downtown Montauk where storms have damaged the existing elevated timber crossovers. The scope of work consists of demolition/removal of existing crossover structures (partial or complete depending on location), removal and replacement or installation of sand fence (extents vary depending on location), as well as restoration of engineered grade and re-vegetation where it is disturbed by demolition. The scope also consists of de-vegetation, installation of sand path, and re-vegetation where a new on-grade sand path is to be installed.
