This Notice of Intent is prepared in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopsis of Proposed Contract Actions for the LEGO Education Robotics Requirement.
THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE PROPOSALS OR QUOTATIONS. A SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE POSTED.
The Government intends to make a sole source commercial supply contract with the vendor LEGO Systems, Inc. for LEGO Education products. Required products include Lego Education Spike Prime Sets, Lego Education Spike Prime Expansion Sets, and Lego Education Spike Replacement Parts.
LEGO Systems, Inc. is the only one (1) authorized distributor in the United States of the LEGO Education products. This vendor is the only one available vendor that can provide Professional Development training and e-Learning modules for LEGO Spike Prime Sets that will be used solely for FIRST Robotics Competitions. DoDEA schools have applied FIRST’s programs to the K-12 education system since 2010. Through the FIRST LEGO Robotic Competition programs, students are sharpened desirable skills to solve challenges and obstacles through the robotic programs developed from a unique combination of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). DoDEA schools need to reprocure LEGO products to ensure the students can participate in the FIRST LEGO Robotic Competition programs annually.
The statutory authority permitting sole source acquisition for this requirement is 41 U.S.C.1901 as implemented by FAR 13.501(a).
The applicable NAICS Code is 541511 - Custom Computer Programming Services; Size Standard is $34,000,000. The applicable Product Service Code is 7H20, IT and Telecom—Platform Products: Database, Mainframe, Middleware (Hw, Perpetual License Software).
This notice is not a request for quotes; however, any responsible source believing that it can fulfill the requirement may submit a response and/or quote for consideration. All responding vendors must be registered to the System for Award Management (SAM). Information can be found at https://www.sam.gov. All responses, comments, questions, or concerns regarding this notice may be submitted via e-mail ONLY to khuong.nguyen@dodea.edu by 1500 Eastern Standard Time on 23 April 2025. Responses received before the closing date may be considered by the Government for the purpose of determining the feasibility of competitive procurement. A determination to proceed with noncompetitive procurement is solely within the discretion of the Government.
