Description

The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is conducting market research to find any potential small businesses that can provide industrial crane removal services in support of our nation's Naval mission. In accordance with RFO FAR 15.101(c), the Government does not intend to award a contract based on the sources sought notice or otherwise pay for the information requested and responses will be treated as information only and not as a proposal. This notice is for market research purposes only.



Please review the attached Statement of Work and support documents for details of the upcoming requirement.




  • The industrial crane removal services to be performed at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard located in Kittery, ME 03904.

  • Period of Performance: Base 05/1/2026 – 07/1/2026 (2 months)



If this is a service, you can provide and would like the opportunity to quote on. Please provide me with confirmation of your intent to submit a quote via email no later than Tuesday 04/7/2026 by 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time. Proprietary information should be minimized and must be clearly marked. Additionally, please provide a capabilities statement if available. Interested parties are requested to respond to this Sources Sought with a PDF Document Format. Responses shall be limited to five (5) pages and submitted via email to the Contract Specialist, David Agea at david.a.agea.civ@us.navy.mil no later than Tuesday 04/7/2026 by 09:00 AM Eastern Standard Time.

*Later, an actual solicitation may be posted to the Government Point of Entry, GPE, at SAM.gov or WEXMAC IDIQ with an official Solicitation number, RFQ Form, and Performance Work Statement. The GPE is dependent upon responses received to this sources sought notice.



The market research information collected resulting from this Sources Sought Notice will be used to help the Government to identify qualified sources capable of accomplishing the required work outlined in the attached Statement of Work under NAICS Code 423830 - Industrial Machinery and Equipment Merchant Wholesalers. All interested parties are encouraged to respond. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.



Only those Responders that can meet the following criteria should respond to this Sources Sought Notice:




  1. Entity can meet ALL specifications outlined in the attached DRAFT documents.

  2. Entity has an active CAGE Code, and current registration in the System for Award Management (www.SAM.gov).

  3. Entity does NOT appear on the Excluded Parties List



If your organization has the potential capacity to accomplish this requirement, responses should include the following information:




  1. Company Name and CAGE Code as reflected in its current SAM Registration, and Tax Identification Number (TIN).
