The City of Columbus is requesting sealed bids for Open Hangar Construction. All bids will be received by the City of Columbus at the Columbus-Lowndes County Airport (368 Fabritek Drive, Columbus, MS 39702) until 2:00 PM Local Time on April 16, 2026, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids received after the specified time will not be accepted and will be returned unopened.

The work is generally described as follows:

Base Bid - Open Hangar Construction (42’ x 204’) with foundation along with construction of concrete aprons.

The contract time for the Bid is 180 calendar days. Liquidated damages in the amount of $500.00 will be assessed for each consecutive calendar day thereafter.

A pre-bid meeting is planned for this project on April 2, 2026, at 2:00 PM. at the Columbus-Lowndes County Airport. It is strongly recommended that prospective bidders attend the pre-bid conference and perform a site visit. Site visits will be scheduled individually to limit large crowds. Bidders must be qualified under Mississippi Law and show a current Certificate of Responsibility issued by the Mississippi Board of Public Contractors establishing classification as to the value and type of construction work on which he is authorized to bid. Contractors must be qualified under Mississippi Law and be registered with the State of Mississippi and as a licensed general contractor capable of performing the required work.

Awarding public contracts to non-resident Bidders will be on the same basis as the non-resident bidder’s state awards contracts to Mississippi Contractors bidding under similar circumstances. In order to ensure that Mississippi’s Golden Rule is followed, state law requires a non-resident bidder to attach to his bid, a copy of his/her resident state’s current laws pertaining to such state’s treatment of non-resident contractors
