Project Description: AHA offers its full-time employees health insurance through CalPERS PEMHCA; MissionSquare 457, 457 Roth, and Roth IRA plans; MetLife Dental; VSP vision plan; Lincoln life insurance and long-term disability insurance coverage and Concern Employee Assistance Program (EAP); and TASC flexible spending account and COBRA administration. AHA is currently budgeted for 57 employees and does not anticipate exceeding this number in upcoming years.
AHA is seeking an employee benefit program consultant to advise on employee benefit plan issues and assist the Executive Director and the Human Resources Department in obtaining and evaluating competitive bids from various providers for all coverage with the exception of health insurance and 457/Roth plans, including the following services:
Evaluate existing employee benefit plans, research the market and identify other competitive insurance coverage;
Solicit competitive bids for existing employee benefit plans, evaluate proposals, and make recommendations;
Assist in carrier negotiations for adequate coverage for dental, vision, life insurance and EAP, long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account and COBRA administration, and any benefit plan changes;
Assist with transition of employee coverage currently in place to any new carriers;
Review all insurance carrier contracts and assure that AHA is adequately covered with respect to its employee benefit plans;
Advise on a continuing basis and in a timely manner of any and all significant matters and developments regarding the progress of carrier service issues;
Assure AHA compliance with all federal, state and local laws, regulations or rulings regarding employee benefits;
Provide assistance to employees with benefit and claims issues that may arise during the normal course of business.
