DEMOLITION BID — FULL STRUCTURE DEMOLITION

PRE-BID MEETING
A pre-bid meeting including a tour of the structure will be held Thursday February 26 at 2PM or you
can contact Carson Daley to schedule a tour at cdaley@sandersvillega.org or 478-552-2525
Project Site: 118 S Harris Street, Sandersville, GA
Contractors shall bring appropriate PPE. Access to the structure is at contractor’s risk.
SCOPE OF WORK
The project consists of full demolition and removal of the existing structure located at 118 S Harris Street,
including:
• Complete building demolition
• Removal of foundations and slabs unless otherwise directed
• Removal of site debris
• Excavation of buried structures as required
• Off-site hauling and disposal
• Final grading and site stabilization
No salvage is required.

SUBMITTALS
Contractor shall provide:
1. Demolition plan describing methods, equipment, and tools used for demolition and relocation
work.
2. Protection plan for adjacent utilities, sidewalks, and structures, including two joining buildings.
3. Sequence of demolition, on-site relocations, and off-site removal of demolition material.
4. Submit written certification of proper transport and final disposal of demolition materials to a
permitted waste facility.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
• Conform to applicable local, state and federal regulations (including 29 CFR 1926, Part T-
Demolition) related to operation of equipment and tools, protection of persons and property and
environmental controls.
• Notify affected utility companies before starting work and comply with their requirements.
PROJECT CONDITIONS
• Contractor shall coordinate schedule for demolition, disposal and removal with the Downtown
Development Authority.
• During demolition, disposal and removal, use all procedures necessary to assure that no portion of
the structure, either that to be removed or to remain, becomes a hazard to persons by instability or
other condition.
• Notify all local, state and federal agencies having jurisdiction and complete all necessary forms
required for demolition and disposal.
• Demolition and removal shall be performed in a manner that will not disturb existing pavement,
utilities, structures and other facilities not indicated to be removed.
• Contractor responsible for traffic control and barricades in coordination with the DDA and
Sandersville Police Department.
EXECUTION
Preparation

• Coordinate with the City to determine the location and extend of demolition to be performed.
• Excavate for removal of buried structures and piping.
• Shut off, cap, and otherwise protect existing public utility lines in the area of demolition in
accordance with the requirements of the City, and utility owner (as applicable).
• Barricade the work areas from pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Post “No Trespassing” and other
necessary warning signs around the work areas during the entire duration of demolition work.
Maintain barricades and signs during the construction period.
Structure Removal
• Demolish full structure as directed by the DDA.
• Remove concrete, wood, steel, and associated materials to the required limits.
• Remove subsurface components as required.
• At limits of concrete remaining in place, maintain cuts in good order until demolition is
completed.
Subsurface Utilities
• Remove or abandon utilities per City standards, including storm drain inlets and pipes, and other
utilities.
• Remove existing subsurface drainage and other utility structures. Removal work shall be
accomplished using methods and equipment which will prevent damage to adjacent structures.
• Where applicable, piping shall be removed back to the nearest joint from the limit of removal
unless otherwise directed by the City.
• Cap sanitary sewer, potable water lines and other designated utilities at exposed ends of pipes to
be abandoned in-place. Capping of pipelines shall be performed in accordance with requirements
of the City and other applicable local codes and standards.
• Any repair work shall be accomplished using materials and methods approved by the City at no
additional cost to the project.
DISPOSAL
All demolition debris shall be transported and disposed of at a permitted landfill in accordance with
applicable regulations.
SITE RESTORATION

• Backfill and grade excavated areas to direct surface storm water to nearest catch basins and storm
sewer. All graded and backfilled areas will be seeded in accordance with state standards for
erosion control.
REQUIRED RETURN DOCUMENTS
• W-9
• Notarized E-Verify Contractor Affidavit
• Occupational Tax Certificate
• General Liability Insurance (minimum $1,000,000)
• Workers Compensation proof of insurance – for more than three employees
BID SUBMISSION
BID REQUIREMENTS
1. The bid must be submitted prior to bid deadline of March 16TH, 2026 at 3:00pm – at which
time a bid opening will take place at Sandersville City Hall, 141. W. Haynes Street,
Sandersville, GA 31082.
2. Three (3) paper copies and 1 jump drive copy of the bid shall be delivered in a sealed
envelope clearly marked

4. The bid shall include the total cost of the equipment and installation and estimated project

5. The bid shall include a description of the equipment features and the warranty provided.
