Project Description: The Matanuska-Susitna Borough is requesting proposals from qualified consultants to provide professional Architecture/Engineering (A/E) services for the design of a new emergency services facility in Willow, Alaska. This project aims to construct a modern, consolidated complex that will house fire, EMS, rescue, and administrative operations. The new facility will replace outdated and unsafe structures, including a condemned building, and will address the lack of dedicated EMS support spaces. Located at 32054 West Parks Highway on a 16.72-acre lot shared with the Willow Community Center, the proposed 15,000-square-foot building will include fire apparatus bays, ambulance bays, gear and locker rooms, supply rooms, office spaces, dormitories for up to eight staff members on 24-hour shifts, a kitchen, dining area, and workout rooms. Additional features will include an underground firewater holding tank meeting ISO standards, a 500 GPM pump for truck refilling, and evaluation of existing utilities for expanded capacity. See scope for detail.
Questions or requests for clarifications shall be directed to the Borough’s Purchasing Office. Questions or requests for clarification directed to any other member of the Borough staff, or consultants may be grounds for rejection of proposal as being irregular.
