Municipal District of Bighorn No. 8
The MD of Bighorn is seeking contractors to construct flood mitigation upgrades near Harvie Heights, Alberta. The two main scopes of work are:
1) Construction of a berm north of Grotto Road.
2) Improvements to the flood mitigation structure at Harvie Heights Creek.
Grotto Road berm involves grubbing, topsoil stockpiling and reclamation, construction of an east-west berm and ditch, installation of a new culvert and replacement of an existing culvert. See tender document for more details.
Harvie Heights Creek work includes removal/relocation of large woody debris from the creek channel, removal/relocation of excess sediment in creek channel and installation of additional rip-rap to raise the wier elevation. See tender document for more details.
Attendance of the optional site meeting on March 20, 2026 is recommended.
