Notice of Intent to Sole Source Requirement

The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Healthcare System, Network Contracting Office 1, Regional Procurement Office East intends to negotiate a sole source contract for W065 - Lease Or Rental Of Equipment- Medical, Dental, and Veterinary Equipment and Supplies under the statutory authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. § 1901 and is implemented by FAR 13.106 1(b)(2) for restricting competition on this procurement. Competition is restricted on this procurement due to Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The associated NAICS code for this is 532490. The vendor will be STERIS Corporation 5960 Heisley Road Mentor, OH 44060-1834, USA.
Description of services:
SERVICE: The VA Connecticut Healthcare System, West Haven Campus has a need for continuation of services for a mobile sterile processing (SPS) unit, currently onsite under contract 36C24124F0087 to ensure the reliable, and continued operation of the medical center s sterile processing service. The location of the service will be at the West Haven VA Medical Center 950 Campbell Avenue West Haven, CT 06516-2770.
It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers.
Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must be received NLT 10:00 AM EST on 3/10/2025.
