Marine Corps Installations-National Capital Region (MCI-NCR), Regional Contracting Office (RCO), Quantico, VA hereby gives notice of intent to award a purchase order to SPIKA DESIGN & MANUFACTURING, INC. (CAGE Code: 4AC84), a SBA-Certified Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 19.1506, only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.
This procurement is to provide a customized mobile work platform to replace outdated equipment, enhance safety, and address current gaps in operational capabilities. This platform will support essential restoration and maintenance operations, providing safe elevated access to macro-artifacts such as aircraft, tanks, and large vehicles. This platform requires a trailing stair off the backside, 96" L x 48" W with 36" Sliders, 48" minimum height, 144" maximum height, electric actuation rails on 4 sides, camlocked. The applicable NAICS Code is 333923 - Overhead Traveling Crane, Hoist, and Monorail System Manufacturing / Scaffolding, Work, and Service Platforms & PSC code is 1730 - Aircraft Ground Servicing Equipment.
Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required item. Therefore, the government
intends to procure this requirement on a sole source basis from SPIKA DESIGN & MANUFACTURING, INC., the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of this supply.
THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may
submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice and by the deadline will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
