Description


Augusta currently owns approximately 1,177 acres southwest of Augusta, which is the site of the existing Deans Bridge MSW Landfill. The landfill currently accepts 1000 to 1500 tons per day of waste from private collection vehicles. Active and closed sections of the landfill comprise approximately 1000 acres of the total property. Some additional acreage contains ancillary facilities and other operations.

The Augusta Environmental Services Department is responsible for Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Subtitle-D MSW Facility; Developing and Updating Solid Waste Management Plan for Richmond County, GA; Collection of Residential Solid Waste and Bulk Waste through contract services; and miscellaneous county-wide environmental assessment and compliance support.

Augusta, Georgia is seeking proposals from qualified, licensed, certified professional entities to provide On-Call Consulting Engineering and Environmental Compliance Services to Augusta, GA Deans Bridge Road Solid Waste Facility in accordance with the Facility approved Design and Operation Plan, Georgia Solid Waste Management Act, Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) Rules for Solid Waste Management (Chapter 391-3-4), and other applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
