Vancouver Coastal Health (Vancouver General Hospital Campus) – Zoning Amendments

Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) intends to extend the contract with Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning Ltd. (Kasian) for their services as the Prime Consultant/Architect for Vancouver Acute (specifically Vancouver General Hospital campus) to lead strategic discussions with the City of Vancouver as a strategic approach to reviewing of current covenants and obligations to enable optimization of land base and health delivery vision is required.

The evolving role of VGH for the city and the province requires an update / amendment to the existing 2002 zoning to support needs of public which drive the 2040 vision: population aging and growth, pandemic resilience, VGH as provincial safety net and as an economic centre .

The maximum value of this contract extension will be $2,000,000.00 - plus tax. VCH has chosen not to complete a Request for Proposal (RFP) process but negotiate the contemplated contract for the following reasons:
