Over view:
The Iowa DOT is seeking competitive bids for the removal and replacement of the existing auto sliding thermal aluminum door at the Lamoni Rest Area as per the attached specifications.
Contract Award

It is the intent of the Iowa DOT to award the contract to the responsible contractor whose submitted quote is the most advantageous to the Iowa DOT, cost and other factors considered. Other factors include, but are not limited to: meeting or exceeding mandatory requirements, proposed staffing, and meeting required time schedule. Other factors may also include a comprehensive review of bidders past work performance, and work capacity.

A purchase order will be issued after award.
Questions: Until the contract is awarded the sole point of contact for this project is Teri Schulz (see bid contract information) any and all questions related to this project included during a site visit are to be submitted to Teri Schulz in writing preferably through the ION wave Bid system. (See the cut off period for question submissions and Site Visit scheduling indicated below)

DOT Estimated Start Date: Upon issuance of award(The date shall be coordinated with the IDOT Project Manager. (This is the estimated start date after all required documents are received (i.e., Insurance, performance bond and vendor signed contract).

DOT Estimated End Date: 11 /27/2024 ( This includes resolution to all punch list items, inspections and DOT acceptance typically used in construction bids).

Site Visits:

A site visit is recommended and will be accommodated if needed prior to submitting a bid to ensure the vendor has access to view the job site. To schedule a site visit, contractors must contact the Purchasing Agent overseeing the bid at teri.schulz@iowadot.us with a date and time of when you want to conduct a site visit. Contractors will be required to bring their own equipment needed for the site visit.

This is project is exempt from state sales tax.
