UP-Deike Bldg Steel Piping Replacement

The project consists of a phased replacement and modernization of the building’s hydronic distribution systems and selected central utility equipment. Work will primarily involve mechanical demolition and installation, with supporting electrical, controls, structural, and architectural modifications as required.

Major work includes the following: Steel Piping Replacement: Phased replacement of existing steel chilled-water, heating hot-water, and associated hydronic piping throughout the building. Work will be performed in multiple phases beginning in 2026 and continuing through 2030 and will require extensive mechanical piping, insulation, controls integration, and associated demolition and restoration. Hosler Chilled Water Connection Removal: Removal of the abandoned pump and piping previously serving the Hosler clean room, including associated demolition and piping modifications completed in multiple phases. Central Plant Equipment Replacement: Replacement of the existing steam-to-hot-water heat exchangers, including associated piping modifications, controls, electrical connections, equipment rigging, startup, and commissioning. Hydronic System Improvements: Installation of chilled water and heating hot water riser extensions to support future building loads.
