RFP FOR UPDATING CITY ZONING ORDINANCE

The City of Big Rapids, Michigan is seeking proposals from qualified firms, organizations, or consultants to conduct professional services to do a rewrite of the City’s Zoning Ordinance. The current Zoning Ordinance was adopted in 1999 and has had updates as needed through 2024. The City is currently in the process of working to obtain a Redevelopment Ready Community Designation and has just recently adopted a new Master Plan. Due to the age of the ordinance, a rewrite/thorough review of the ordinance is being sought to ensure language isn’t contradictory and is thoroughly reviewed.

This solicitation will enable the City to select the most qualified firm for this opportunity. The City reserves the right to reject all responses not deemed acceptable. Selection will be based primarily upon the qualifications of firms to perform the services outlined in this document.
