Description:

PURPOSE

It is the intent of this solicitation to secure through competitive sealed bidding, the design, fabrication, assembly and delivery of twenty-five (25) 24” diameter bronze medallions within a 29” square granite base and twenty (20) 5” diameter bronze keepsake medallions.

II. SCOPE OF WORK

The City of Williamsburg, hereafter known as the City, is seeking bids from companies for the design, fabrication, assembly, and delivery of twenty-five (25) 24” diameter bronze medallions within a 29” square granite base and twenty (20) 5” diameter bronze keepsake medallions.  The work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, duties, or incidentals necessary for the execution and completion of the scope of work in compliance with the Contract Documents. The successful bidder will be responsible for all stages of design refinement, material procurement, molding/casting, finishing, and preparations for installation and delivery.

The selected fabricator shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Design Development: Collaborate with the City of Williamsburg to transform the provided conceptual design into a detailed, manufacturable design for both the 24-inch and 5-inch bronze medallions, including 3D modeling and shop drawings for approval.
  • Material Procurement: Source all specified materials, including bronze, granite, and stainless-steel mounting hardware, ensuring they meet the required quality and specifications.
  • Bronze Medallion Fabrication: Cast 25 individual 24-inch diameter bronze medallions and 20 individual 5-inch diameter bronze medallions according to the approved design and material specifications.
  • Granite Surround Fabrication: Fabricate 25 individual 29-inch square granite surrounds, precisely sized to accommodate the 24-inch diameter bronze medallions.
  • Finishing: Apply specified chemical patinas, surface treatments, and protective coatings to all bronze medallions.
  • Mounting Hardware: Provide and pre-fit all necessary mounting hardware for each 24-inch diameter medallion and surround assembly.
  • Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control measures throughout the fabrication process to ensure consistency, durability, and adherence to all specifications.
  • Packaging and Delivery: Securely package and deliver all 25 completed 24-inch diameter medallions and surround assemblies, as well as 20 completed 5-inch diameter keepsake medallions, to the City of Williamsburg, 401 Lafayette St, Williamsburg, VA 23185, by the agreed-upon date.
