RFB-2817 Sidewalk and Curbs (2026-2027)
Description:
a) The work in this section consists of construction for sidewalks, driveways, curbs and gutters.
b) Construction of sidewalks, driveways and detectable warnings on pedestrian facilities shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements of NYSDOT Section 608, and as directed by the Owner.
c) Construction of both curbs, and curbs and gutters shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements of NYSDOT Section 608, and as directed by the Owner.
d) Work includes all associated work including site preparation, tree and stump removal, site clean-up and restoration.
e) References made herein to the Owner, County, City, CUSA (Central Urban Service Area) or “Engineer” shall refer to equivalent municipal agent.
f) 811 Excavator Training: On November 5, 2018, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo signed Senate Bill S.6756 and Assembly Bill 9985 into Law with the intent to greatly reduce the number of excavation related accidents thereby providing greater public safety and protection. The amendment to NYS Code Rule 753 will require any municipality or operator that engages in excavation work to require its excavators to complete a training and education program from their local One Call Notification Center. Under this newly enacted law, receiving New York 811 Excavator Training & Education Program will constitute compliance with the law. New York State will make Online training available December 1, 2018, at no cost to the participant. Excavators will have 180 days to complete this training to be in compliance with the law – May 4, 2019. It is the responsibility of the excavator to provide proof of training upon bid award.
