The Ronkonkoma Train Wash Facility Upgrades and New Wastewater Sewer Connection

Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: The Work of this Contract includes installation of a new 8” HDPE sewer pipe connection from the existing LIRR train wash located in the Ronkonkoma rail yard to an existing 18” sewer main located north of the LIRR right-of-way. This Contract also includes upgrades to the existing train wash system to create a more effective and efficient system.

The partial scope of the Work is summarized as follows:

• Major components of sewer connection:
  • Maintenance and protection of traffic during construction.
  • Removal and replacement of full depth asphalt paving including pavement markings.
  • Sheeting and shoring to support all Work.
  • Installation of approximately 500 LF of new 8” HDPE pipe including all excavation, backfilling.
  • Installation of four (4) new manholes.
  • Approximately 160 LF of horizontal auguring underneath LIRR track to install approximately 147 LF of 28” steel casing.
  • Removal and replacement of Potential of Hydrogen (pH) neutralization system.
  • Installation of new oil water separator.
  • Permitting, coordination, final inspection, acceptance and close out of permits issued from Governments, any Authority Having Jurisdiction (“AHJ”), and other agencies as applicable. Agencies and entities may include but are not limited to: SCDPW Sewer Agency Unit, SCDPW Industrial Waste Unit, SCDHS Office of Wastewater Management, NYSDEC, and the owner and other stakeholders of the Tritec Property.

This is an A + B Bidding Contract.
