Description
USAID intends to issue a solicitation for a Personal Services Contract (PSC) for the position, Justice, Rights, and Security (JRS) Senior Security Sector Advisor, at the GS-14 equivalent level for USAID’s Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Governance (DRG).
The JRS Senior Security Sector Advisor provides strategic leadership and technical expertise in security sector governance programming to USAID’s overseas missions, bureaus, and offices. They will contribute to the design, implementation, and evaluation of USAID programs worldwide, represent this portfolio in internal USG and external fora, will spearhead applied research and thought leadership on security sector development strategies and interventions, and will help to strengthen the capacity of USAID on security sector needs, entry points, and opportunities. The Advisor trains USAID staff in design and implementation of security sector governance programming. These general responsibilities will be carried out through a combination of Washington, DC-based support and overseas TDYs. The geographic scope of the Advisor’s work is world-wide and varied to reflect changing country and political context.
The duration of the contract period is anticipated to be one two-year base period with three optional one-year periods for a maximum duration of five years in total.
