THE U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS (USACE) IS CONDUCTING MARKET RESEARCH AND DESIRES INPUT FROM THE INDUSTRY TO ASSIST IN REQUIREMENTS PLANNING. THE INFORMATION REQUESTED BY THIS NOTICE WILL BE USED WITHIN USACE TO FACILITATE THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS AND WILL NOT BE DISCLOSED OUTSIDE THE AGENCY. THE PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIAL QUALIFIED SOURCES WHO MANUFACTURER/DISTRIBUTE DODGE-BALDOR PILLOW BLOCK BEARINGS, THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS AND CAPIBILITIES RELATIVE TO NAICS 332991 PILLOW BLOCKS WITH BALL OR ROLLER BEARINGS MANUFACTURING. THE ASSOCIATED SMALL BUSINESS SIZE STANDARD IS 1,250 EMPLOYEES.

Responses will assist the government in determining whether to set-aside/restrict competition in some way dues to brand name restrictions. We request information pertaining to the brand name justification and if there are any other compatible parts that would work with the required system.

DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The Army Corps of Engineers, MVP St. Paul, MN is currently conducting market research seeking potential sources, including small businesses (SB), 8(a), HUBZone, Economically Disadvantaged Woman-Owned (EDWOSB), Woman- Owned (WOSB), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVOSB) Small Business that can provide three (3) Part #P4B-BAR-800 Dodge-Baldor Pillow Block Bearings for the Dredge Goetz. This justification is covering only the portion of the acquisition which is brand-name or peculiar to one manufacturer, and the approval level requirements will then only apply to that portion. The use of such brand name descriptions in the acquisition or portion of an acquisition is essential to the Government’s requirements, thereby precluding consideration of a product manufactured by another company.

The NAICS code for this acquisition is 332991, Pillow Blocks with Ball or Rolling Bearings Manufacturing and the size standard is 1,250 employees.

All firms responding to this notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be posted later at https://www.SAM.gov and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. A response to this notice is NOT a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
