Carteret County is seeking sealed bids from qualified marine contractors to perform essential maintenance dredging in the Davis Ferry Channel. This crucial waterway ensures reliable ferry and boater access between Davis and Cape Lookout National Seashore, and regular dredging is vital to keep it navigable.
The project involves removing and disposing of approximately 993 cubic yards of accumulated sediment to restore the channel to its authorized depth. All work must strictly adhere to project specifications, applicable CAMA General Permit provisions, and all governing state, federal, and local laws, regulations, and permit conditions for dredging, marine construction, and environmental protection.
