Description
The Bureau of Land Management, Utah State Office, intends to award a firm fixed price, sole-source purchase order to University of Arizonia. This requirement is for an ethnographic study focusing on traditional vegetation management techniques throughout lands managed within the administrative boundaries of Color Country with the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah. (PITU). The PITU has been working with the University of Arizona since 1991 with specific ethnographers to continue to appropriately convey important traditional ecological knowledge. The contractor will complete the ethnographic study within three (3) years of award.
Completion of the ethnographic study will include:
1. Organize and conduct interviews (virtually or in person) with Tribal representatives to identify traditional vegetation management techniques.
2. Compile and synthesize existing ethnographic and ethnohistorical data relating to traditional vegetation management practices.
3. Identify areas of traditional vegetation management practices in collaboration with Tribal representatives; and,
4. Prepare an ethnographic report detailing information related to traditional vegetation management techniques and locations.
The estimate cost for this requirement is $97,000.00.
This action is under the authority of FAR 13.106-1, for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisitions threshold. The anticipated award date is 01/03/2024. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541620 Environmental Consulting Service with a size standard of $19M. Please note that this is not a request for quotes. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit, in writing, complete information describing their ability to provide the requested material listed above. Deadline date for submittals is 12/24/2024 at 12:00 PM MT.
A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
