The proposed procurement is for NSN 1710-01-163-0268, PISTON ROD. This part is coded for the Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment. It is a Critical Safety Item and as such, the part is to be manufactured by NAVAIR approved sources. The NAVAIR P/N is 410414-3. Manufacturers not designated by NAVAIR will be required to submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) Package for future procurements. Contract type will be firm-fixed priced (FFP) for a quantity of 13 EA. Quantity ranges are included to adjust demands if necessary. Ranges will go up to 20 EA.

Item is for stock location San Diego, CA (SW3218). Requested delivery is approximately 600 days after date of award, which includes days for Contractor First Article Testing. Solicitation will require FOB Destination with Inspection and Acceptance at Destination contractor’s facility.

While price may be a significant factor in the evaluation of offers, the final award decision will be based upon a combination of price, delivery, past performance and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation.

The solicitation will be issued as a small business set-aside.

Based upon market research, the Government is not using the policies contained in Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, in its solicitation for the described supplies or services. However, interested persons may identify to the contracting officer their interest and capability to satisfy the Government’s requirement with a commercial item within 15 days of this notice.

One or more of the items under this acquisition may be subject to Agreement on Government Procurement approved and implemented in the Unites States by the Trade Agreements Act of 1979. All offers shall be in the English language and in U.S. Dollars. All interested suppliers may submit an offer.

This notice is to announce that the NSN will be solicited in the near future on MAY 8, 2025. This solicitation will be available on the Internet at http://www.dibbs.bsm.
