Description
This is a notice of intent to award a brand name only contract and is not a request for quotes.
The Department of Veterans Affairs Buffalo VAMC intends to award a firm fixed price brand name only contract for:
Lyons VAMC at 151 Knollcroft Rd, Lyons NJ 07939 has a need to comply with VHA Directive 1177 mandates that any VA health care provider actively participating in direct patient care in any clinical setting, including community or home care settings, as well as all VA health care providers credentialed for direct patient care must maintain training in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as appropriate to the provider s credentials.
As an industry leader in resuscitation education, committed to being a high reliability and learning organization, VHA offers the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) program that provides low dose, high frequency training on a quarterly basis.
Per VHA Directive 1177, VANJ is transitioning Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation training profile from the reliance of instructor led classes to use of electronic courseware followed by a skills assessment using a Voice Assisted Manikin (VAM) program. The Resuscitation Quality (RQI) Program is American Heart Association s gold standard for health care employees to demonstrate competency in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advance Life Support (ALS). To maintain the RQI Program at the Veterans Affairs, East Orange and Lyons campus, RQI carts and VAMs will have to be purchased. VA New Jersey Health Care System (VANJ) is looking to replace broken manikins and purchase new manikins and RQI carts for both East Orange and Lyons. The manikins used for BLS are voice activated manikins (VAM) gives real-time feedback on chest compression and airway management. Currently the VAMs are beyond repair per IT and are out of warranty. The RQI carts will be used to mobilize the Simulation Stations placed in the nursing care throughout the hospital, Domiciliary, and CBOCs.
