This will be the second Parks, Recreation and Open Space Master Plan. The first Master Plan was completed in 2016 and adopted by the Park Commission and City Council. The Master Plan is expected to provide direction on department policies, program offerings, facility maintenance, facility construction and management, general capital improvements, park amenities, parkland development, strategic land acquisition, personnel and staffing levels and budget and finance matters.
The purpose of the Master Plan is to create a clear set of goals, policy recommendations, objectives and implementation strategies that will provide direction to City staff, the Park Commission and the City Council for development and enhancement of the City's park system and programs for the next 5-10 years.
