1.3.1 Project Description
The work includes B762 Repair Water Storage Tank 2 and incidental related work.
Demo:
1. Drain Tank per NAS Lemoore requirements.
2. Demo existing wood gauge board, tank gauge and float system.
3. Demo existing anodes for cathodic protection system.
4. Remove existing metal roof vents and side screens.
5. Remove existing 3 inch diameter overflow piping.
6. Demo existing roof hatch.
7. Demo existing tank ladder.
8. Clean up and dispose of construction refuge per NAS Lemoore requirements.
Construction:
1. Clean and Inspect Tank. Provide a certified tank inspection to include
structural and leakage testing. Provide a certified report to NAVFAC
Facilities Engineering and Acquisitions Division (FEAD) CM upon project
closeout.
2. Inspect and provide recommendations for repair of the Floating Spray
Nozzle.
3. Install new Goverment provided side vents per plans.
4. Install new roof hatch per plans and specifications.
5. Install new roof vents per plans and specifications.
6. Install new anodes on the cathodic protection system per plans and
specifications.
7. Install new exterior stainless steel gauge board and SS cables for
float/gauge system.
8. Install new 8 inch diameter pipe overflow 6 inches below the side vents.
9. Install new stairs and landings per plans and specifications.
10. Install new top railing per plans and specifications.
11. Patch holes and repair severe corrosion spots as needed.
12. Install new interior coating per plans and specifications.
13. Install new exterior coating per plans and specifications.
14. Disinfect Tank per AWWA C652.
15. Perform operational check to NAS Lemoore staff Standards.
16. Clean up and dispose of construction refuge per NAS Lemoore
requirements.
17. Provide NAVFAC Facilities Engineering and Acquisitions Division (FEAD)
CM with As-built drawings, Contractor daily reports and required
documentation as specified to complete the scope of work upon project
closeout.
