Gravel Spreading Tender

Sealed tenders will be received by the undersigned for the loading, hauling and spreading of approximately 10,000 cubic yards of road gravel for 2025 from the municipality’s gravel stockpiles. The 10,000 cubic yards to be spread are in stockpiles located in multiple locations throughout the municipality.

Additional terms and requirements outlined on the Gravel Tender Form are available from the municipal office or online at rmofmilton.ca. Form must be completed and returned with the tender.

Sealed tenders are to be received by 4:00 p.m. on March 20, 2025 with tenders to be opened during the regular meeting of council on March 25, 2025 commencing at 7:00 p.m.

Load, haul and spread approximately 10,000 cubic yards of road gravel and heavy crush gravel from the municipality’s gravel stockpiles. The 10,000 cubic yards to be spread are in stockpiles located in multiple locations throughout the municipality.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Contractor does not have exclusive rights for gravel hauling during the term of the agreement;
2. Municipality is not liable for moving or set-up costs;
3. Coordination of the gravel hauling is to be through the municipality’s foreman;
4. Contractor is to haul gravel according to the supplied gravel haul map which will be supplied by the municipality;
5. Gravel spreading information is to be completed on a spreadsheet provided by the municipality. Original copies of the spreadsheet must be returned when the corresponding invoice is submitted;
6. Contractor agrees that the sub-contracting of gravel hauling may only be done with the approval of the municipality;
7. Municipality will retain the right to determine the amount of gravel spread;
8. Municipality may suspend gravel hauling and spreading at any time, due to adverse road or weather conditions, or unsatisfactory performance by the contractor;
9. Municipality reserves the right to have any gravel truck weighed at any time to verify the actual load;
10. Contractor agrees to obey the speed limit on all municipal roads at all times;
11. This agreement applies to the year 2025 only;
12. Haul dates must be between May 15, 2025 and September 30, 2025; unless a different time frame is approved by council.
