Description

The purpose of this firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quanity (IDIQ) contract is to:

• Consult and provide advice on issues that Embassy Management deals with on a recurring basis that contend with the majority of Locally Employed (LE) Staff work functions predominantly in overseeing and managing duties related to local employment including, but not limited to - compliance with local law and prevailing practices, recruitment, hiring, separation, reduction in force, benefits, compensation, wages, occupational safety and workers’ compensation, and employment visa/sponsorship cancellation or transfer.

• Review Locally Employed Staff Handbook and Local Compensation Plan (LCP) for legal compliance and provide required updates with practical suggestions based on Omani labor law.

• Consult and provide advice on Embassy’s LE Staff disciplinary policy and separation for cause procedures in compliance with Omani labor laws to avoid needless cost and unnecessary litigation.

• Consult and provide advice on death and repatriation benefits required by the Omani labor law, and Omani Immigration Department for non-Omani nationals.

• Consult and provide advice on compliance with new provisions of host government labor laws.

• Participate in Human Resources Office related meetings and/or negotiations, as needed.

• Provide other legal services from time to time as needed.
