2. Contract Title.
Brand Name or Equal: Bauer UNICUS 4/S25H-E3 N1 6000 PSI Compressor.
3. Background.
The Bath VA Medical Center Fire Department relies on a high-pressure air compressor to fill self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) cylinders, which are essential for firefighter safety during emergency response operations. The current compressor has reached the manufacture s end-of-life, meaning it is outdated, and increasingly difficult to maintain.
4. Scope.
The purpose of this Statement of Work (SOW) is to procure and install a BAUER UNICUS 4S/25H-E3 N1 6000 PSI Compressor, Fire Edition or an equal unit that meets or exceeds the specified technical and performance requirements, for the Bath VA Medical Center Fire Department. This unit will replace the current, outdated compressor, which has reached the manufacturer s end-of-life and received multiple work orders for repairs. The new system will ensure reliable and efficient high-pressure air compression for critical fire department operations.
5. Requirements.
5.1 Equipment Specifications.
Compressor Model: Fire Edition BAUER UNICUS 4S/25H-E3 N1 6000 PSI or equal.
Edition: Fire Edition Specialized package designed to align aesthetically with fire department themes.
Operating Pressure: 6000 PSI
Horsepower: 20 HP
Charging Rate: 25.2 CFM
Filtration System: P5 Securus Filtration System or equal
Compressor Stages: 5-stage with interstage pressure gauges.
Condensate Drain System: Automatic condensate drain system with non-corrosive condensate reservoir.
Fill Station: Three-position fill station.
Storage Cylinders: Four ASME-certified cylinders mounted on the back of the unit.
Safety Features:
Low oil shutdown
High-temperature shutdown.
NEMA 4 rated electrical enclosure
Emergency stop push button
Audible alarm on safety shutdowns
Additional Features:
Electronic CO monitor Integrated real-time CO monitoring system to ensure air safety.
Remote fill connection Anables convenient remote refilling of SCBA cylinders in different locations.
5.2 Additional Specifications.

NFPA 1901 2016 edition compliant 3 position containment fill station
Dimensions: 101 x 38 x 78 to fit in the only designated area

Fill Station: Three-position SCBA fill station to allow for simultaneous refilling of up to three cylinders.
5.2 Installation and Service.
Installation: Vendor shall deliver and install the compressor at the Bath VA Medical Center Fire Department, ensuring full operational functionality.
Air Quality Test: A certified air quality test must be conducted at startup to ensure compliance with applicable air purity standards.
Training: The vendor shall provide hands-on training for designated fire department personnel, covering operation procedures, routine maintenance, and safety protocols.
6. Delivery & Performance Criteria.
The contractor shall complete delivery, installation, testing, and training within 6 months from the date of contract award.
7. Acceptance Criteria.
The unit shall meet all performance and specifications outlined in Section 2.
The installation must be verified for full functionality, including a successful air quality test.
Training must be completed, and designated personnel must demonstrate operational competency
8. Security.
The C&A requirements do not apply, and a Security Accreditation Package is not required.
