Red Departure Drive & Airside A & C Guideway Rehabilitation

The Project consists of the rehabilitation of the Red Departure Drive and the Airside A & C Guideways at Tampa International Airport. The entire area, except for the expansion joints, of Red Departure Drive will be repaired, waterproofed, and re-striped. The entirety of the Airside A & C Guideway walkway will be repaired, including concrete repairs, waterproofing (sealants, traffic coating, and expansion joints), and miscellaneous painting.

Red Departure Drive

This Project consists of rehabilitation of the Red Departure Drive including concrete repairs to floors, curbs, ceilings, beams, and walls. The entire existing traffic bearing membrane will be removed and replaced, except in the valet area on the east side of the drive, and the approach and exit ramps will also receive a traffic bearing waterproofing membrane to waterproof the entirety of the ramps. Replacement of the existing expansion joints includes total replacement with a heavy-duty bolt down joint. Also included in this project is pavement markings and installation of a cementitious coating to the face and top of the walls on each side of the ramps.

Airside A Guideway

This Project consists of rehabilitation of the guideway walkway including concrete repairs to floors, columns, and beams. Cracks will be routed and sealed, as well as replacement of existing deteriorated sealants on the walkway. The walkway surface will receive a penetrating concrete sealer. All existing expansion joints will also be removed and replaced with a winged type expansion joint with an elastomeric header and integral gutter. Also included in this project is walkway safety markings and painting of the steel handrails.

Airside C Guideway

This Project consists of rehabilitation of the guideway walkway including concrete repairs to floors, columns, and beams. The entire walkway floor will receive a traffic bearing waterproof membrane. All existing expansion joints will also be removed and replaced with a winged type expansion joint with an elastomeric header and integral gutter. Also included in this project is walkway safety markings and painting of the steel handrails. Plexiglass panels in the baggage area will be replaced or re-secured.
