Overview

Summary

General work description:

The District of Columbia Government, through its Department of General Services (DGS), is seeking qualified contractors to provide Comprehensive City-Wide Periodic Mowing, Landscaping Maintenance, and Supplemental Landscaping Services. This initiative covers a wide range of tasks, including mowing, mulching, pruning, leaf removal, weeding, and other related services for District-owned properties featuring softscape and hardscape surfaces. The goal is to maintain a clean, manicured, and professional appearance across all sites while promoting healthy growth of grass, shrubs, flowers, and plants throughout the city.

DGS anticipates awarding up to six contracts, with one contractor assigned per Aggregate Award Group. However, the Department reserves the right to award multiple groups to a single contractor if it serves the District’s best interest. Selected contractors will play a key role in ensuring that public spaces remain safe, visually appealing, and well-maintained year-round.

Background

Vendors with innovative approaches, strong quality control, and responsiveness are encouraged to participate. The ability to manage large-scale operations, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain clear communication with DGS is essential. Contractors who combine technical expertise with proactive problem-solving will help set a new standard for urban landscaping, contributing to the beautification of the nation’s capital and enhancing the experience for residents and visitors alike.
