Summary

The County of Sacramento, Department of General Services at the request of the Department of Technology (“DTech”) is issuing this Request for Information (“RFI”) to gather current market information for an Email Security solution. DTech seeks to review comprehensive solutions that fit the requirements found in the document titled "2025-RFI-0089 Email Security Capabilities Matrix" located in the Vendor Submissions tab of this RFI.

THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (“RFI”) ONLY. This RFI is being issued solely for informational and planning purposes – it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This request for information does not commit the County of Sacramento to contract for any supply or service. Responders are advised that the County will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party’s expense. Response to this RFI is voluntary and is not a prerequisite for responding to a future solicitation, if any are issued. Proposals submitted in response to any subsequent RFP will be evaluated on their own merit, with no advantage or disadvantage resulting from this RFI.

Background

Sacramento County was incorporated in 1850 as one of the original 27 counties of the State of California. A five-member elected Board of Supervisors serves as the government body of the County, establishing policy and exercising legislative authority. The County Executive, appointed by the Board, serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the County and is generally responsible for the County’s day-to-day operations. Sacramento County has an estimated population of 1.6 million residents. The County is staffed by approximately 12,000 full-time employees and manages an annual budget of almost $8.9 billion dollars.

The County’s current Email Security system is based on XXXXXXXXX that may require modernization to improve efficiency in detection, reporting and security.
