The Mississippi Department of Human Services (MDHS)/Division of Child Support Enforcement
(CSE) is seeking a full-time (40 hours a week) contract worker to serve as Director of the Child
Support Fatherhood Initiative for the agency. The term of the contract shall begin after both parties
have signed and end on June 30, 2026. Continued services are possible pending adequate funding
and successful job performance. The hourly pay range for this position ranges from $26.55/hour
to $28.85/hour. The applicant chosen for this position will report to the Director of the Child
Support Enforcement Division and/or a Deputy Director and/or the Director of Grants, Projects,
and Special Initiatives.
Scope of Services:
Plan and direct the development, design, and implementation of the Fatherhood Initiative
with Child Support Division leadership and other Fatherhood Initiative team members
Supervise and manage Fatherhood Agents, assist in the development and expansion of the
Fatherhood Initiative, and support other Child Support Division activities and operations as
assigned and/or deemed appropriate
Oversee case management
Oversee the maintenance of communication with potential participants of the Fatherhood
Initiative, as well as all enrolled participants throughout their time in the program
Initiate and maintain communication with partner and/or potential partner organizations
and/or agencies
Oversee the Fatherhood Initiative program, including data retention and analysis, and
monitoring and maintaining adherence to processes and procedures
Draft correspondence, notices, memoranda, and/or other documents as assigned
Serve as a spokesperson and liaison between agency divisions, outside organizations, and
the general public
Research issues in child support enforcement, including but not limited to the efficacy of
fatherhood programs
Gain sufficient proficiency in computer applications to support the Fatherhood Initiative and
the Child Support Division
Plan and monitor program budget and expenditures
Analyze program performance and draft periodic program performance summaries
Other duties as assigned
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge of computer database skills, including Excel
Microsoft PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word
Project management experience
Team management experience
