The North Carolina Department of Public Safety Emergency Management Division and the
Department of Transportation are requesting bids for the construction of modular and standard
bridges on private roads over Trout Creek at 928 James Hayes Rd, Deep Gap, Yadkin River at
715 Chatham St, Rhonda, Big Bugaboo Creek at 1089 Annie-Sophia lane, Roaring River, and N
Fork Reddies River at 167 Starline Drive, McGrady in Watauga and Wilkes County to be let at
2:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
The date of availability for bridge construction at Site 095-01-b9ecb (928 James Hayes Rd) is the
date the Contractor begins work, but not before September 1, 2026 and no later than August 2,
2027.
The completion date for this contract is the date that is sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after
and including the date of availability.
The date of availability for bridge construction at Site 097-01-10FB2 (715 Chatham Street), is the
date the Contractor begins work, but not before September 1, 2026 and no later than August 2,
2027.
The completion date for this contract is the date that is sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after
and including the date of availability.
The date of availability for bridge construction at site 097-01-132D4 (1089 Annie-Sophia Ln) is
the date the Contractor begins work, but not before September 1, 2026 and no later than August 2,
2027.

date the Contractor begins work, but not before September 1, 2026 and no later than August 2,
2027.
The completion date for this contract is the date that is sixty (60) consecutive calendar days after
and including the date of availability.
Because of the unusual nature of the work involved and in order for all prospective
bidders to have extensive knowledge of the project, an open, virtual Pre-Bid Conference
will be held for all interested parties on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 8:00 am.

This is not a mandatory pre-bid conference however all potential bidders are
strongly encouraged to attend.
Sealed bids must be received in the NC Department of Transportation Division Office
at 55 Orange Street, Asheville, NC 28801 by 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 5,
2026. Bids must be submitted on the official bid sheet included in the proposal and
display the following statement on the front of the envelope:

bidders that it will affirmatively insure that the contract entered into pursuant to this
