Description

The City of Lethbridge Electric Utility (LEU) intends to move high voltage electrical cables from inside the Whoop-Up Bridge to underground conduits across the Oldman River. LEU intends to enter into a contract with an experienced drilling contractor to supply all materials, equipment and labor to install the conduit under the river. The final delivered product will be thirteen conduits installed along an estimated 400m drill path and fusion capped just outside the entry/exit points of the drill location.
Scope
The contractor will be required to provide the following and is considered in-scope of the contract:
1. Quantity thirteen (13) parallel runs of HDPE conduit with an inner diameter of 4” and a smooth inner wall the entire length of the conduit, installed together along the engineered drill path under the Oldman River.
2. Proof of continuity along the entire installed conduit length for each conduit, showing the conduit has maintained the integrity for both shape and connection.
3. Quantity twenty-six (26) installed fusion caps installed at each end of each conduit as soon as the conduit exits the ground on either side of the drill path.
4. Quantity twenty-seven (27) pipe transition connections to facilitate the connection of the supplied HDPE pipe to DBII pipe.
