USAID/Iraq manages an active $1 billion portfolio and anticipates programming over $450 million in democracy, governance, economic growth, climate adaptation, and stabilization over the next five years. USAID/Iraq's Supervisory Executive Officer (S/EXO) oversees the key management structures and administrative processes that are necessary to achieve the Mission's programming objectives. Reporting directly to the Mission Director or his/her designee, the S/EXO is a member of the Mission’s senior management team and serves as the principal advisor to Mission management and staff with full responsibility for providing leadership, guidance, advice, professional expertise and knowledge, and staff support in the administrative management functional areas. In this capacity s/he is tasked with developing innovative methods for providing improved administrative and logistical support services in this complex operational environment. S/he is responsible for administering an annual operating expense budget of $12M, supervising the Executive Office staff of two USPSCs and 10 FSNs, and mentoring in a manner that supports knowledge transfer to these staff members.
Baghdad is a 35 percent danger pay post with a post allowance of 30 percent with three rest and recuperation periods. The Baghdad Embassy Compound, where the contractor lives and works, includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, a coffee shop, convenience stores, multiple gyms, and a variety of sports and hobby groups to join. Boasting a dry climate, and a dynamic, rich culture, Iraq is a deeply compelling country with talented FSNs who know how to navigate the challenging development and security context while eager to professionally develop through robust partnerships with their U.S. colleagues.
