Solicitation Summary

The City of Gaithersburg (“City”) is soliciting quotes from qualified structural engineer consultants to assist the Planning and Code Administration Department with certain construction document reviews. The reviews are for projects that in-house staff are unable to perform. The contract will have an initial term of one-year and two automatic renewal terms of one-year each. The initial term will run September 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027. The successful Consultant is required to sign a contract with the City.

Structural plan reviews may be required on projects ranging from commercial renovations to new construction on projects consisting of multi-family and mixed-use buildings, office buildings, places of assembly and other types of structures. Work would be on an as needed basis as determined by the Building Permits Manager

The Structural Engineer Consultant will be selected from the RFQ pool of applicants by a committee made up of City staff.

Project Budget:            $22,000. This is the not-to-exceed amount, each fiscal year, that may be expended; this amount is inclusive of all costs associated with the project deliverable.
