Town of Bonnyville
The Town of Bonnyville (the “Town”) invites proposals from qualified multi-disciplinary design teams to provide a complete architectural and engineering services to advance the FCSS and Library to tender‑ready status.
The building will occur on Town‑owned properties located at 5201 – 43 Street, Bonnyville, Alberta. The design should include approximately 3,400 ft² of FCSS administrative space, 11,700 ft² of Library space, and 2,200 ft2 of shared spaces. The purpose of the structure would be to adequately house the operations of the FCSS department, the Bonnyville Library, and potentially shared spaces that may be used for revenue generation or business incubation. Ideally, the building would allow free flowing patron traffic throughout while still allowing for quiet, confidential spaces when needed.
The services include all due diligence, geotechnical investigations, surveys, code reviews, design development, utility/site servicing, and preparation of complete Construction Documents required for permitting, tendering and construction.
Scope of Work
•Confirm program and develop space planning for 3,400 ft² of FCSS administrative space, 11,700 ft² of Library space, and 2,200 ft2 of shared spaces; layouts to be confirmed during design. This will involve a new build that will have the potential for future expansion. The building area should include male and female, public and staff bathrooms, meeting rooms, storage rooms, offices, parent/tot space, classroom(s), multi-use spaces, book storage, community kitchen, and rental office spaces with proposed furnishings. Project deliverables include Construction documents, a set of drawings and Opinion of Probable Cost.
• The assessment shall be performed by individuals trained and licensed and/or certified in construction, engineering or architecture for the specific building systems they are assessing.
• Complete site surveys, geotechnical investigations and reporting, utilities review, and codes analysis that includes, but is not limited to fire suppression and sprinkler analysis.
• Provide full architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and related engineering services.
• Coordinate with Town stakeholders; provide value engineering and lifecycle considerations.
• Deliver complete Construction Documents suitable for building permits and tender.
