TOWN OF SOMERSET REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP) LEASE OF 3256 COUNTY STREET PROPERTY
The Town of Somerset (the “Town”) is seeking proposals for the lease of Town-owned property located at 3256 County Street, Somerset, Massachusetts, and identified on Assessor’s Map D-4, Lot 24 and is further described in a deed recorded in Book 7399, Page 344 with the Bristol County Fall River District Registry of Deeds (the Land) for the purposes of Agricultural, Horticultural/or Floricultural Uses (Excluding Animal Husbandry) and accessory Retail Sales. This Property is approximately 10 Acres.
The Town is interested in leasing the Land for the highest rate possible. However, the Town may award the lease to a non-profit organization or other group or association if the Town determines that it is in its best interests to do so for less than market value. The lease will be triple net, with the tenant being responsible for maintenance, operating costs, taxes, and insurance.

Written responses will be provided to questions seeking clarification or interpretation of the meaning of the provisions of this RFP submitted in writing to and received by the Town no later than 4 p.m. on November 8, 2024. Responses will be distributed to all parties who have received an RFP and have provided a name, contact information, mailing address and email address to the Town. Written questions must be submitted to Office of the Chief Procurement Officer at the Somerset Town Office Building, Room 23, 140 Wood Street, Somerset, MA 02726, with “Questions – Lease of 3256 County Street” clearly marked on the outside.
Proposals must be sent or delivered to the Office of the Chief Procurement Officer at the Somerset Town Office Building, Room 23, 140 Wood Street, Somerset, MA 02726 no later than 11:00am, on November 22, 2024, at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened. Proposals become public information when opened. Late, faxed or emailed proposals will not be accepted. The front page of the proposal package must be clearly marked with the words “Proposal for Lease of 3256 County Street.”
No proposer may withdraw or amend their proposal for a period of one hundred twenty (120) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The awarding authority is the Somerset Board of Selectmen.
The Town of Somerset, acting through its Board of Selectmen reserves the right to waive any informality, to negotiate lease terms with the successful proposer, to award the lease of the Property to the proposal deemed in the best interest of the Town, and/or to reject any or all proposals if it is in the public interest to do so.
