FY2026 Notice of Intent to Award a intent to make a Best Value Grant to the University of Massachusetts Amherst ("Grantee") in the amount of $1,000,000. As described in further detail below, the purpose of this grant award is to develop and implement a long-term salt marsh monitoring program ("Program"), which began in its planning stages in 2024. The purpose of the Program is to assess the condition of salt marshes throughout the Commonwealth due to threats from anthropogenic alterations, sea level rise and invasive animal and plant species; and better understand the efficacy of various salt marsh restoration methodologies.
