FY2027 ROADWAY IMPROVEMENTS

The Town of Shrewsbury invites sealed bids for FY2027 Roadway Improvements. All contractors must submit bids in conformance with this Invitation for Bids and the related documents which shall be available online at www.shrewsburyma.gov/bids and also in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury. Town Offices are open Mon, Wed, Thu 8:00 AM-4:30 PM; Tue 8:00 AM-6:30 PM; and Fri 8:00 AM-12:00 PM.

The scope of work is as follows: the mill and overlay of approx. 33,500 s.y. of roadways known as Oak St, Alice Ave, Ruthen Cir, Prospect St, Round Table Rd, Sword St, and Guinevere Cir. Work also includes the full depth reclaim/repave of two streets totaling approx.  18,100 s.y., known as Saxon Lane and Keyes House Rd. Also included is the replacement of 36 WCR/CCs, approx. 46 catch basins, 2 DMHs, a leaching catch basin, associated frames, covers and HDPE drainage pipe.

Work to be performed must be completed within 180 calendar days.

All Contractors must be pre-qualified through the Massachusetts Department of Transportation with the class of work as PAVEMENT – SURFACING with an estimated value of $2,172,804.34.

This Invitation for Bids shall be governed by the requirements of MGL Chapter 30, §39M.

Bids will be received in the Town Manager’s Office at 100 Maple Avenue in Shrewsbury, MA until 1:00 PM on May 12, 2026, at which time they will be opened publicly and read aloud.

Bids must be sealed and marked “FY2027 Roadway Improvements” with the bidder’s name and address clearly noted.

A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the total bid shall accompany the Bid and be made payable to the Town of Shrewsbury.

The Town reserves the right to waive any minor informalities in the bids and to reject any and all bids if it shall be deemed in the best interests of the Town to do so.
