Event Description
The purpose of this RFP is to solicit proposals to assist the Office of Injury, Violence and Overdose
Prevention in the Department of Health (DOH) to decrease opioid misuse and overdose through
implementation of evidence-based interventions and facilitation of healthcare provider education. The
successful applicant will demonstrate the ability to coordinate with healthcare facilities on the
implementation of proven strategies within emergency departments, primary care clinics and other
healthcare settings. They will also be able to successfully plan and deliver trainings to healthcare
professionals and prescriber professional groups outlining evidence-based strategies and statewide
resources. A strong understanding of hospital and clinic workflows and integration processes, as well as
opioid-related interventions is required. The selected applicant will be expected to work with the three
major healthcare systems in South Dakota, as well as independent facilities.

The State will to respond to offeror’s inquiries (if required) via e-mail. In addition, all inquiries and the
State’s response will be posted on the state’s e-procurement system. Offerors may not rely on any other
statements, either of a written or oral nature, that alter any specification or other term or condition of this
RFP. Offerors will be notified in the same manner as indicated above regarding any modifications to this
RFP.
