| Description: | New Hanover County Recycling and Solid Waste Department Request for Proposals Garbage to Gardens Compost Transporting RFP# 25-0443 Proposals will be received by Anne McAllister, Business Officer for “RFP # 25-0443 Garbage to Gardens Compost Transporting” until 3:00 P.M. EST, TUESDAY, June 10,2025. Proposals should be emailed to Anne McAllister, Business Officer, at amcallister@nhcgov.com. The subject line should contain “RFP# 25-0443 Garbage to Gardens Compost Transporting”. New Hanover County is accepting proposals for the transporting of collected food waste from schools participating in the New Hanover County Garbage to Gardens Program. Food waste shall be delivered to a NC DEQ Type 3 or Type 4 permitted compost facility. The hauling shall be performed by the CONTRACTOR using their own equipment and collection receptacles. Bins should have lids and shall be serviced two (2) times per week during the posted school year (see Attachment A) and kept clean by the CONTRACTOR for the duration of the school year. Contractor shall track the amount of food waste collected and report significant amount of contamination by date of service and location. CONTRACTOR will coordinate with the compost facility operator regarding disposal of contamination. A report shall be delivered electronically on a monthly basis to the NHC Recycling and Solid Waste Program Coordinator. Instruction for submitting Proposals and compete requirements information may be obtained by visiting the County’s website at https://www.nhcgov.com/bids.aspx.
