Town of Canmore

Request for Proposal

Town of Canmore is carrying out a major project, Railway Avenue Central, at Railway Avenue and Main Street. Scope of work includes civil, landscaping and electrical. Civil work consists of demolishing of existing infrastructure, replacing existing watermain and sanitary sewer, storm infrastructure replacements/renovations, constructing concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, red concrete bike path, asphalt mixed use path, asphalt road, regulatory paint markings, and signage. Landscape scope includes planting, street furnishing, and site restoration. Electrical work includes supply and installation of streetlights, traffic signals and associated hardware.

The previous RFP which closed on January 14, 2025 did not receive sufficient bids to award the
work. After the RFP closed, proponents expressed concerns about the project schedule and the
CIPP specifications. The project schedule has been expanded to 2 years of construction by
extending the completion date by one full year. Staging and phasing of the work into a 2-year
workplan is to be proposed by the proponent. In addition, CIPP specifications have been revised
to enable more flexibility of CIPP methodology and technology while still adhering to relevant
ASTM specifications. Please note there will be no optional bidders meeting during the reissued
RFP. Key dates and changes from the previous RFP are shown highlighted with yellow. There
have been no changes to the design drawings since the previous RFP. Proponents should
specifically note the new Appendix H containing previous RFP addenda information and
clarifications.
