Title: Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Replacement and Modifications to Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
Addenda: 3
Release Date: 11/19/2025
Due Date: 1/9/2026
On behalf of the Buckman Direct Diversion (BDD), the City of Santa Fe is seeking qualified contractors to provide professional services for the replacement of key Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and to support the SCADA system. The project includes furnishing labor, equipment, materials, and programming expertise necessary for installation, integration, testing, documentation, and training. The goal is to ensure continued reliable operations of BDD's water treatment processes by updating aging control systems with modern, efficient, and fully supported equipment. PLC and SCADA replacements must be scheduled during low-demand periods (October-March) to avoid disruption to operations. In addition, the project will require coordination with BDD staff to ensure seamless integration, updated documentation, and training for operators. Successful completion will improve system performance, minimize downtime, and strengthen operational resilience for years to come.
BDD relies on PLCs and the SCADA system to monitor and control critical water treatment operations. Several of these components have reached the end of their useful life, creating risks to reliability and efficiency. The BDD operates a public water supply system that delivers water to The City of Santa Fe, The County of Santa Fe and Las Campanas. This system is controlled and operated by complex SCADA systems.
