North Carolina State University is seeking qualification statements from electrical contractors, for whole building standby power. The project scope includes required site work, generator screening wall, and installation of, one (1) 500 kw generator, new panelboard, ATS and MTS procured by NCSU, to provide full standby power at the Avent Ferry Technology Center.
The budget of $800,000 incorporates design, construction, fees and associated construction costs.
To qualify, contractors must have a North Carolina Unlimited General Contractors License or a North Carolina Unlimited Electrical Contractors License and a North Carolina General Contractors License, as well as applicable bonding requirements. General Contractors licensed in North Carolina without an Unlimited Electrical Contractors license are welcome to bid as well.
The contractor must show comparable work experience, both in complexity and dollar value, and preferably in a university campus environment, to the scope of work outlined above.
To be considered, the contractor must obtain an application package from the NC State University Project Manager and submit a sealed, fully completed qualification document by 5:00PM, July 16, 2026, to Michael Baker, project manager, by email only, to mebaker@ncsu.edu. No hard copies shall be submitted. Application packages will be available electronically after June 29, 2026. Please contact the project manager via email.
