Project Description: General Notice
The Town of North East (Owner) is requesting Bids for the construction of the following Project:
LESLIE POND SEDIMENT REMOVAL PROJECT
4201.027
Bids for the construction of the Project will be received electronically via the PennBid program until 3:00 p.m. local time on June 3, 2025 After bid opening, a public notice will be issued via PennBid containing any available bid results. It should be noted that bid results are subject to further review and should not be construed as issuance of an award.
The Project generally consists of the draining, dewatering, and removal of sediment in the raw water settling pond at the Town’s Leslie Water Treatment Plant located off of Route 272 in the Town of North East, Maryland. Draining and dewatering includes pumping* and filtering of the water layer in the pond. Removal of sediment includes extraction and dewatering of the sediment layer in the pond. All pond water, filtered sediment, and dewatered sediment is to be disposed of in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Pre-bid Conference
A pre-bid conference for the Project will be held on May 13, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Leslie Water Treatment Plant, 39 North Leslie Road, North East, MD 21901. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is encouraged but not required.
Instructions to Bidders.
For all further requirements regarding bid submittal, bid security, qualifications, procedures, and contract award, refer to the Instructions to Bidders that are included in the Bidding Documents.
Attention is called to the fact that Davis Bacon wage rates must be paid by the Contractors on this project and that employees and applicants for employment shall not be discriminated against because of their race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap.
