Representative Payee Services for Adults

Project Description: Montgomery County, on behalf of the Office of Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities/Early Intervention (MH/DD/EI) is seeking the provision of Representative Payee services for a maximum of 90 individuals. The Representative Payee service will provide bill paying, funds distribution, and basic budgeting education services to Montgomery County adults aged 18 and up with mental illness who need help managing their finances. The primary goal is to work with the person and their supports in the community to enhance the participant’s budgeting and money management skills thus allowing the person to achieve financial goals, live more independently in the community, and eventually graduate from the program. The Representative Payee works with case management and other supports to ensure that participants’ needs are being met sufficiently by using funds for the person’s current and foreseeable needs, saving any excess funds for future needs, and reporting any changes that could affect the person’s eligibility for benefits.
